TO SERVE YOU BETTER, WE NOW POST OUR TOURNAMENT SCHEDULES ONLINE!
As of 2007, all brackets for each tournament are now posted on this website! All brackets are posted on the Monday prior to the tournament. Please click on the individual tournament city for the schedule.
NEW TOURNAMENT FORMAT FOR SOME 2008 EVENTS-3 GAME MINUMUM TOURNAMENTS!!
Due to demand from our patrons, NAYS has added a number of three game minimum tournaments for the spring of 2008. Instead of consolation brackets, there will be first, second, and third place awards in this format. Teams will be able to play more games in a shorter time span to help alleviate excess travel and wait times. More game time for teams is the biggest plus to this option. Additionally, our three game tournaments cost far less for an entry fee than almost any other national organization. Check out our tournament sites today to find the one nearest you! All of our 2 and 3 game minimum spring tournaments for 2008 will be posted by December 31, 2007.

PROGRAM POLICY STATEMENT:
MISSION
The purpose of the North American Youth Sports – Basketball Tournament Division is to promote the interest in and the growth of youth basketball in a fun, positive atmosphere, where winning is not the primary focus, but building skills for later basketball successes is foremost.
SPORTSMANSHIP
It is the obligation of coaches, players, administrators, volunteers and other representatives of NAYS to practice the highest principles of sportsmanship and to observe the ethics of competition during our youth basketball tournaments. Good sportsmanship is defined as qualities of behavior which are characterized by courtesy and genuine concern for others. The display of good sportsmanship is a statement of the individual's understanding and commitment to fair play, ethical behavior and integrity.
AMATEURISM
Neither youth athletes, players, coaches, volunteers nor supporters shall violate the amateur status of competitors. The youth athlete shall not directly or indirectly receive pay or financial benefits in consideration of or as a reward for participating in athletic competition. Clubs/teams shall not provide shoes, articles of clothing, or non-medical equipment unless like items are provided to all members of the team.
COACHES ETHICS
The coach must be aware that he can be either a positive or negative influence upon the development of the athlete in a basketball tournament atmosphere. In all of his/her personal contacts with athletes, officials, parents, the media, and the public, the coach shall strive to set an example of the highest ethical and moral conduct. It is our belief that players and fans emulate the behavior of their coach. With your leadership qualities we feel that together we can make these youth basketball tournaments the best available to today's youth.
